Driving Directions:

The Northman is located at 233 E. Riverwalk, on the South Bank of the Chicago River, just West of the Columbus Ave. Bridge. There are many parking garages in the area, and the closest Riverwalk access points to The Northman are the Michigan and Columbus Ave bridges. For Metered Parking very close to The Northman and for handicap accessible parking and drop-off, see the below directions. We are about a 15min walk from the Clark & Lake, State & Lake, & Washington & Wabash L stops.

South Bound LSD

1. Heading South bound on LSD, take the Illinois exit Toward Navy Pier.
2. Stay in the middle lane and continue straight – passing Illinois Ave. Follow signs for Wacker. You will cross over the river.
3. Take a right at Wacker.
4. Take a left on Columbus, which is the first light on Wacker.
5. After turning on Columbus, get into the far, right lane. The very first light is South Water Street.
6. Turn Right on South Water Street – take the CENTER LANE, which is a ramp DOWN to the lower level.
7. At the bottom of the ramp, take a right at the stop, which is Stetson.
8. Drive straight, and you will see the river straight ahead. This is the access point to the Riverwalk.
9. Park at one of the meters right there. The Northman is just to the right as you step onto the Riverwalk.

North Bound LSD

1. Heading North bound on LSD
2. Turn Left on Monroe.
3. Take a right at Columbus.
4. Continue North on Columbus into the tunnel, this will take you under Randolph.
5. Get into the left lane, and look for South Water Street.
6. Turn Left on South Water Street (the last light before Waker)- take the CENTER LANE, which is a ramp DOWN to the lower level. (If you reach Wacker, or the River, you have gone too far on Columbus.)
7. At the bottom of the ramp, take a right at the stop, which is Stetson.
8. Drive straight, and you will see the river straight ahead. This is the access point to the Riverwalk.
9. Park at one of the meters right there. The Northman is just to the right as you step onto the Riverwalk.

East Bound 90

1. From 90E, Exit at Ohio St.
2. Turn Right on Fairbanks. (This will turn into Columbus Ave.)
3. Continue on Columbus across the Chicago River.
4. Pass the Wacker Ave, and take a right at the first light – South Water Street
5. Turn Right on South Water Street – take the CENTER LANE, which is a ramp DOWN to the lower level.
6. At the bottom of the ramp, take a right at the stop, which is Stetson.
7. Drive straight, and you will see the river straight ahead. This is the access point to the Riverwalk.
8. Park at one of the meters right there. The Northman is just to the right as you step onto the Riverwalk.

West Bound 90

1. From 90W, Exit at Roosevelt and head East
2. Turn Left at Columbus Ave.
3. Continue North on Columbus into the tunnel, this will take you under Randolph.
4. Get into the left lane, and look for South Water Street.
